History & Nature

Located right on the Colorado River, River Island State Park is a great place for camping enthusiasts, and it has plenty of amenities to make your stay something special. A ramada, sandy beach, cove, and boat launch area mean that you’ll be drawn to the beautiful river and mountain views, and may even feel inspired to stay awhile.

The park offers a hiking trail, and easy river access making for great boating, fishing, jet skiing, and swimming which are all very popular, especially during warmer months. Winter’s mild climate makes this a great cool-weather destination too, and visitors frequently enjoy camping fishing, and hiking. It’s always a fun time to visit!

There’s plenty of camping available right in the park. Or you’ll find hotels, motels, and inns in nearby Parker. With accommodations located so conveniently, it’s easy to get back to your favorite activity after a good night’s rest

Hours & Pricing

  • Open daily. Day use parking available until 10 p.m. 
  • Camping stay limit is 14 nights, and may be extended with approval of Park Manager
  • Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please prevent loud nuisance noises at all times

 

Park Entrance Fees: 

  • Per Vehicle (1 – 4 Adults): $10/day
  • Individual/Bicycle: $3/day

Camping Fees:

  • Electric Site: $25 – 28/night
