St. David

Retreat to St. David to unwind in peaceful surroundings.

Right Now

A popular choice for birders and wine enthusiasts, the town of St. David makes a peaceful base for exploration of the surrounding region.

St. David has deep religious roots. Founded by Mormon settlers in the 1800s, today, it is home to the Holy Trinity Monastery, a Benedictine monastery that welcomes visitors seeking quiet time for reflection. Resident peacocks stroll the grounds, which also hold a museum and gardens for strolling.

One of the biggest draws to St. David is the variety of wildlife that live in or visit the area. More than 400 species of birds migrate through the region, bringing avid birders to town, life lists in hand. Other visitors choose to stay in St. David for its close proximity to Southern Arizona’s wineries. A short drive can deliver you to some of Arizona’s finest wine producers set amid rolling grasslands.
