On April 20, 2019, the world’s favorite side dish takes center stage at the inaugural FRIED, French Fry & Music Festival at Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix. FRIED presents some of the Valley’s most creative culinary talent and showcases their versions of gourmet French fries for an affordable $2-$3 each. Larger portions for sharing (or not sharing) with friends and family will be available as well.
French fry makers include Frites St., The American Poutine Co., French Me, The Dressing Room, Merkin Pizza Wagon, Hibachibot, Ginger Monkey Tavern, Handlebar Diner, Los Compadres, Sr. Ozzy’s, The Closet Vegan, Culinary Sköl, Farmboy, Dang Brother Pizza, Trapp Haus BBQ, and Morning Kick, with more to be announced. Local fryer oil specialist, SK Oil Sales, is providing oil for all fry makers. Look for fries with everything from carne asada and pulled pork to kimchee, chorizo, lobster, and even Bolognese. On stage, the music line-up includes Fairy Bones, Please, decker., Weird Radicals, Gus D Wynns & The Breakers, Mr. Mudd & Mr. Gold, and DJs Stoneypie, Reverse Cowboy, and Maintenance.
Attendees are invited to ride bikes to the festival and valet them with Phoenix Spokes People. Then, grab a cocktail from the on-site Gracie’s Tax Bar, or wash it all down with a soda from Jarritos.
This inaugural festival is produced by a founder of the Arizona Taco Festival, Phoenix Pizza Festival, and Downtown Donut Festival. The event benefits Downtown Phoenix Inc., a community-building organization that promotes the continued revitalization of downtown Phoenix. Using their powers of collaboration, DPI works tirelessly to ensure that Phoenix is a vibrant, urban destination and one of the nation’s great cities.
