Almost 9th Annual Dashboard Cookie Competition

The Almost 9th annual Dashboard Cookie Competition is scheduled to begin at 7:15 a.m. PST on Friday, June 22 at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center parking lot at 1477 Queens Bay in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

The event began in 2009 to welcome the Pi Kappa Phi’s “Journey of Hope” cyclists who travel 4,100 miles in 64 days across the U.S. The philanthropy event raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities.

Teams of cyclists will be provided with a cookie sheet and cookie dough. They will be given a mystery theme to mold their cookie dough into their best depiction of the theme in 15 minutes. The cookie sheets will then be placed on the dashboards of vehicles provided by the Anderson Auto Group. The windows will be rolled up and the doors will be locked until 11:30 a.m. when the judging will begin. A panel of five judges will choose a winner and a runner-up beginning at noon. The winning team members will receive a Walmart gift card.

Spectators are welcome; free admission for the public.

Lake Havasu City holds the record for the hottest city in America when it reached 128 degrees on June 29, 1994. Death Valley (unincorporated) is the hottest location in American with a record of 134 degrees in 1913.

 WHEN           7:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PST on Friday, June 22, 2018, winner will be declared from noon – 12:15 p.m.
