Make a holiday of it in Clarkdale, starting with a community-wide pancake breakfast which kicks off an old-fashioned July 4th. Take part in a children's parade down Main Street, ride a vintage fire engine, and sing along to patriotic music performed by a local band in the town's historic park. As the afternoon approaches, head to the train depot for a great lunch at the depot, and a visit with a bald eagle courtesy of Liberty Wildlife prior to the train's 1:00pm departure. The railroad rolls a rare riparian Arizona, following the Verde River into a wildly scenic red-rock canyon accessible only by train.
