David Crosby and Friends Sky Trails Tour 2019

Danny Zelisko Presents an evening with David Crosby and Friends as they bring their Sky Trails Tour 2019 to the historic Celebrity Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th. Tickets on at celebritytheatre.com

Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and co-founder of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Crosby is heading out on tour this May and June. Joining him will be five musical friends, collectively and affectionately known as the ‘Skytrails Band’ are: Crosby’s son James Raymond on keys, Mai Agan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keyboards and vocals. The veteran music maker is in the midst of an incredibly creative and powerful period, showcasing his skills as the brilliant songwriter that he is. On this tour, Crosby will be performing some of his best loved songs and greatest hits from his illustrious career, alongside material from the Sky Trails album, plus a few surprises as well.

Released in 2017, Sky Trails is Crosby's sixth solo album. Overseen by Crosby's keyboard-playing son, James Raymond, the project sports some sophisticated, jazzy arrangements. Highlights include the Steely Dan-ish "She's Got To Be Somewhere," “Before Tomorrow Falls on Love,” co-written with Michael McDonald and “Amelia,” Joni Mitchell’s remarkable 1976 reflection on the incompatibility of art and love. Crosby’s political side is represented by “Capitol,” an embittered guided tour of forces manifesting themselves as “a tempest, a system, moving like sharks.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets ($40, $65 and $85) go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 20th at Celebrity Theatre, 440 N. 32nd St., in Phoenix, or online at www.celebritytheatre.com. To charge by phone, call 602-267-1600. All tickets are subject to facility and ticketing surcharges. All ages welcome.
