14th Annual Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival

Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music (FFOTM) is a member-based and supported organization formed in 1988 in Flagstaff, Arizona. FFOTM transformed into a 501c3 nonprofit in 2000, whose mission is to share, promote, preserve and present Bluegrass and other forms of traditional American Folk Music and Dance for the enrichment and enjoyment of our community. In addition, we support traditional dance performances and instruction of both Contra and Square dancing. As a non-profit arts organization we have been honored and supported by many grants, which have funded a variety of mission-focused activities. FFOTM hosts regular jams and bi-annual campouts.

Pickin’ in the Pines is an award-winning bluegrass & acoustic music festival first held in 2006 founded by FFOTM members in Flagstaff, Arizona. The festival honors the interests of the diverse membership of FFOTM, featuring the best traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, complemented by other styles of acoustic music and dance. Pickin’ in the Pines was voted “Best Festival” in 2017 by readers of the Arizona Daily Sun.
Although bluegrass music is a primary focus of our festival, we also feature other forms of acoustic music such as old-time music, Celtic, gypsy jazz and more.  To see this year’s stellar roster of talent visit our Lineup page. The festival also features educational workshops and a band contest, all in a family-friendly setting.

Our beloved attendees and talent come from Flagstaff, all around the Southwest and beyond. Camping and jamming are also a big part of the Pickin’ in the Pines experience. Please visit our Camping page for more information.
