As the home of the original Colorado River crossing point for Route 66, Topock serves as a gateway to Arizona history.

Right Now

This tiny town packs a lot of punch. Home of the Old Trails Arch Bridge, which connected Route 66 to California until 1948 (you may remember seeing it in The Grapes of Wrath and Easy Rider), Topock now acts as a gateway for boaters between Needles, California, and Lake Havasu City. The Topock Marina is home to a resort, spa, and restaurant that gives this riverside town a lively vibe.

Part of the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, Topock Marsh is a popular birdwatching spot, and kayaking through the marsh provides an up-close look at local wildlife. Oh, and the old bridge? You can still see the white arch spanning the Colorado River – it now carries a pipeline across the river.
