Galiuro Mountains by Rich Broeker
A small community in the Sonoran Desert, there’s no shortage of scenic views, great drives, and beautiful hikes in and around San Manuel. Just 45 miles northeast of Tucson, San Manuel is a short drive that can make for a fun day trip.
State Route 77, the Copper Corridor Scenic Road East, follows a Territorial-era route through one of the state’s important mining districts. Desert flora abounds, so take your time and pull off onto the stops along the way to soak in the views and study the interesting desert inhabitants. During spring, you might get an eye full of color from a variety of blooming desert flowers.Visit City Site
