Grammy Award-Winning Lineup includes Jill Scott, The Isley Brothers, and Anthony Hamilton
The Arizona Jazz Festival returns to the Wigwam Resort and Spa this spring featuring a three-day festival showcasing renowned Old School, R&B and Jazz talent from all over the world. Expected to attract more than 12,000 music aficionados, The Arizona Jazz Festival will set the stage for 20 national acts on Friday, April 12th through Sunday, April 14tth, 2013.
The star-studded lineup includes three-time Grammy Award winner and No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, “The Original” Jill Scott, taking the stage as the headliner Friday, April 12th. She is most known for her soft and sensuous melodies (Who Is Jill Scott?, The Light of the Sun) and as an actress starring in films (Sins of a Mother, Why Did I Get Married). Also performing on Friday with his rich baritone vocals is Mo Town musician Will Downing (A Love Song).
Saturday’s headlining roster includes the talented & Grammy award winner The Isley Brothers (It's Your Thing, Who’s That Lady, Shout, Twist and Shout, Between the Sheets). Then together on stage, R&B singer and former front man of L.T.D Jeffrey Osborne (On the Wings of Love & Love Ballad) & Euge Groove (Livin' Large, Chillaxin). Mindi Abair (True Blue, Lucy, Bloom) will grace the stage alongside Billboard's #1 smooth jazz song of the year for 2012 artists Peter White (Here We Go) & David Pack (Biggest Part of Me ~Ambrosia). Larry Graham & Graham Central Station (Your Love, Welcome to America) will take the stage as well as Lalah Hathaway (Forever, For Always, For Love) & Rahsaan Patterson (6AM, Crazy Baby). Three-time winner of the New England Urban Music Award for Best Jazz Male, Elan Trotman will kick things off Saturday afternoon. Trotman will also close out the evening hosting the official ALL STAR JAM inside The Wigwam Resort immediately following the final act.
Closing out the festival on Sunday, April 14th is 2013 Grammy nominated Anthony Hamilton (Back to Love, Pray For Me, So In Love) & four-time Grammy Award winner and multimillion selling artist India Arie(Ready For Love, I Am Not My Hair, Get It Together). Legendary sax man & six-time Grammy winner David Sanborn (Bang Band, Chicago Song)will hit the stage. American R&B soul singer Angie Stone (Intimate Secrets, Night Walk) will be performing, in addition to the Jazz and R&B musician who won the 2007 International Instrumental Artist of the Year Award, Nick Colionne (The Big Windy Cat). Andre Delano (Da Da Song), Jeannette Harris & Phil Denny complete Sunday’s lineup.
