San Carlos Apache Tribe

From gambling and golf for the adults to fishing and hiking for the kids, the San Carlos Apache Tribe is a family friendly community that prides itself on providing entertainment for everyone. Plus, everyone will enjoy the cultural center, where history is told from the Tribe’s perspective. Come for the temperate weather, the fishing, or the history, and stay a little longer for the fun you didn’t even see coming.

History & Nature

The Apaches are descendants of the Athabascan family, which migrated to the Southwest in the 10th century. As reservations were being established, the separate bands of Apache placed at San Carlos became one tribe recognized as the San Carols Apaches.

The San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation encompasses 1.8 million acres of pristine land spanning across three regions of mountain country, desert, and plateau landscapes. The rich cultural heritage is as abundant and rich as the tribal land’s natural resources.
