Performances will take place at the intimate 300-seat Dorrance Auditorium on the beautiful campus at Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley. All SMTC shows feature the best local talent in the valley and a live 20+ piece orchestra. Show dates are:
• Thursday, November 14th @ 7:30PM
• Friday, November 15th @ 7:30PM
• Saturday, November 16th @ 7:30PM
• Sunday, November 17th @ 2:00PM
The cast will feature 4 time AriZoni Award-winner Matt Newhard as Professor Harold Hill, Rebecca Woodbury as Marian Paroo, award-winning performer Hector Coris as Marcellus Washburn, Matthew Harris as Mayor Shinn, Lindsay Urbank as Eulalie Shinn and long-time valley barbershop quartet crooners Bill Kane, Galen McClain, Tom Lyon and Ray Estes.
One of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time, The Music Man starred Robert Preston and Barbara Cook. Professor Harold Hill and Marian the Librarian became immortal with the classic film version starring the same Robert Preston and Shirley Jones and then again with Matthew Broderick and Kristin Chenoweth. With classic tunes that include "Ya Got Trouble," "Goodnight My Someone," "Till There Was You," and the show-stopping "Seventy-Six Trombones," The Music Man is an irresistible, all-American musical for the entire family! The show will be directed SMTC executive producer and theater veteran, David Hock, with long time valley musical director Christie McKibben and choreographer Hilary “Tink” Hirsch on board. The 21-piece orchestra will be conducted by Kevin Hayward.
