3rd Annual Earth Harmony Festival
through October 5, 2014
Earth Harmony Festival – Love Your Mother (Earth!)
Avalon Organic Gardens & EcoVillage in Tumacacori (which recently opened the all-organic, all-local Food For Ascension Café in the 4th Avenue area of Tucson) will host their third annual Earth Harmony Festival on October 4 & 5. Avalon Gardens is one of North America’s largest EcoVillages. Established in Arizona in 1989, Avalon has evolved and grown into what is now a 220-acre EcoVillage with 117 residents from around the world and growing. A virtual oasis in the desert, Avalon is nestled in the picturesque Santa Cruz River valley, an area rich with heritage and history.
Avalon Gardens founders, Gabriel of Urantia and Niánn Emerson Chase, created the Earth Harmony Festival to celebrate the vision of sustainability unfolding at the EcoVillage and to encourage a restoration of balance to the world’s people and ecosystems through environmental awareness, education, and a commitment to taking active steps towards creating a planet of peace and unity without uniformity. Come bear witness to change in action through a new paradigm of living, thinking, growing, and achieving!
The Earth Harmony Festival features engaging and educational EcoVillage tours, where festival goers explore various sustainable living practices such as permaculture, organic gardening, seed-saving, the cultivation of heritage and heirloom vegetables and grains, composting, rain and grey water-harvesting, eco-building projects, Arizona’s largest food forest system, solar and wind power, the workings of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and more. Additionally, the festival offers live music; speakers; a fun and interactive children’s village; pony rides; vendor village with food, art, crafts, and eco-friendly information; and camping under the starry night sky.
Live music for the festival is provided by Global Change MusicSM Nonprofit Record Label featuring TaliasVan & The Bright & Morning Star Band performing CosmoPop® - spiritual vocal music that addresses the sufferings of our times and gives hope for a better world to come™, VansGuard, Starseed Acoustic Ensemble, The Change Agents Band, and Israfel Awakened. Global Change Music artists’ each have their own unique musical style with lyrical poetry about caring for the earth and its people and taking action against injustice.
The Earth Harmony Festival thrives on partnership! Donors and sponsors make the festival possible and help support Avalon Gardens Internships, the Personality Integration Rehabilitation Program, and Homeless Is Not My Choice — nonprofit programs which assist individuals from diverse backgrounds in various levels of healing, training, and education to actualize their dreams and talents. Entrance to the festival is free. Donations for activities and Eco Tours are encouraged to help foster the EcoVillage’s many prototype projects for creating a more sustainable, environmentally-conscious, and friendly world.
Camping is available by donation. For more information, to become a sponsor, and for camping reservations visit http://earthharmonyfestival.org or call 520-398-2542.
