6th Annual Derby Day Porch Party

Celebrate the fast pace and exhilaration of the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby at The Phoenician’s sixth annual Derby Day Porch Party. On Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 4 p.m., Desert Hills Presbyterian Church (DHPC) will welcome soulful jazz vocalist Tommy Gearhart to the stage for a concert showcasing the works of the legendary Tony Bennett. As part of the Church’s popular Arts at the Rocks performing arts series, this free event will take place on the DHPC campus at the foot of the beautiful boulders, 34605 N. Tom Darlington Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85266. A sensitive yet powerful vocalist with a deep passion for ballads, Tommy Gearhart has developed his own sound as he explores the Great American Songbook and jazz standards. A former drummer, he transitioned to singing at age 25. Under the mentorship of Jon Hendricks and drawing influence from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Andy Bey and Mark Murphy, Tommy quickly honed his warm baritone voice and refined musicianship. Today, his vocal style blends heartfelt expression with jazz sophistication, making him a distinctive and compelling presence in the world of jazz. Raptors At The Rails
