Annual Man Against Horse Race

A bar bet turned into a legendary endurance race. In 1983, Man Against Horse began by a bar bet on Whiskey Row in Prescott Arizona between Gheral Brownlow and Cowboy Steve Rafters. Gheral bet Steve he could outrun his horse in the race. Elevation begins at 5,000 feet and can climb to an elevation of 7600 ft.
