Our story at Goldwater Brewing Co. is rooted in a deep family tradition that began in 1986. That's when our dad, Greg McClelland, started home brewing, sharing his passion with us—Chad and Dillon—in the family garage. What began as a hobby evolved into a shared dream. Inspired by Chad's travels through craft beer scenes worldwide, we decided to turn our family passion into a professional endeavor. With the full support of Greg, Dillon, and Jimmy Disken, we opened our doors on May 1, 2015.

Our journey began in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, where we established our original 10-barrel brewery and flagship taproom. We chose this bustling neighborhood for its vibrant mix of culture, art, and tourism—it felt like the perfect place to share our beer with both locals and visitors from all over. Since day one, our goal has been to create a welcoming spot where anyone can unwind and enjoy a great brew, whether you’re a seasoned craft beer lover or just stopping by on your Scottsdale adventure. We’ve always got something fresh on tap for you!

Our success comes from the combined strengths of our team: Greg’s business acumen, Chad’s brewing expertise, Dillon’s creative vision, and Jimmy’s operational skills. Together, we’ve built a brand known for quality, innovation, and community.

As we continue to grow, we've expanded our presence across the East Valley. Today, you can visit our taprooms in Old Town Scottsdale, South Tempe, and East Mesa. We are committed to continuing our expansion, with a highly anticipated new location coming to Gilbert in 2026.
