A simple design for a powerful purpose. Five marble pillars stand in honor of the five United States military branches and those who served in them.
The pillars are staggered in size and ordered in accordance with the Department of Defense prescribed precedence, ranging from the United States Army, the United States Marine Corp, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, and the United States Coast Guard.
Designed and engineered by local residents, Renee Palmer-Jones and Jim Martin, the pillars are located in Anthem Community Park in Anthem, AZ. They are aligned so that at precisely 11:11 a.m. on Veterans Day (November 11), the sun’s rays will pass through each of the five pillars’ elliptical openings to illuminate a glass mosaic medallion of the Great Seal of the United States.
The Memorial is about a forty-minute drive from Phoenix, where you’ll be sure to find the perfect lodging option.
Open during park hours, Monday – Sunday, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
