Road to Country Thunder 2018

The third annual Road to Country Thunder returns to downtown Florence. This pre-festival bash will feature food, fun and up-and-coming country artists brought to you by the radio station, KMLE Country.

Road to Country Thunder takes place on Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 5 to 11 p.m. along Main Street in Florence. Admission is free. Call (520) 868-7585 or visit for more information.

Coolidge, home to the Casa Grande Ruins

Who’s ready for an ancient mystery? Though the “Great House” at the Casa Grande Ruins is an important landmark in Arizona history, its exact origins remain unknown to this day. Some suspect it was a gathering place for the ancient Desert People; others assume it was simply a waypoint marker in an extensive system of canals. Regardless, you can still enjoy the well-preserved grounds, museum, events and activities at this rich cultural site.

The Casa Grande Ruins are open year-round, but March in particular highlights American Indian customs, including weaving, beadwork and pottery.

While you’re in Coolidge, don’t forget to stop by the Artisan Village where you can tour the Copper State Heritage Museum as well as the Pinal Geology & Mineral Museum. Visit or call (520) 723-3009 for more information.

Budget-conscious guests are encouraged to take advantage of several discounts the fair offers, from free admission and rides for youthful readers to discount senior day and free military admission.
