Butterfly Walks at the Arboretum

Join us for a guided butterfly walk each month of the Spring and Summer – A walking tour to see, photograph and learn about colorful species ranging from Empress Leilia to Queen, Spring Azure and more. These leisurely, slow-paced guided tours proceed along paths that are wheelchair-accessible, exploring our Hummingbird-Butterfly Garden, Demonstration Garden and Children's Garden collections.  ASU researcher Ron Rutowski, President of the Central Arizona Butterfly Association, guides butterfly walks at 8:30 a.m. June 23, July 28 and August 25. Adriane Grimaldi leads the walk September 22 at 9:00 a.m., and teams up with Gail Morris at 9:30 a.m. on October 27 for the season finale.  

Event included with Admission:  $12.50 for Adults, $5 for children 5-12, free for children under 5. Free to Arboretum members and Arizona State Parks pass-holders.

    [Sep 23] A special Vulture Viewing to observe our famous flock of Turkey Vultures perched on the cliffs before they depart to spend their day soaring the skies. ASU Professor Dave Pearson will be the guest 'Vultureologist' "talking about TUVUs", sharing a few jokes about the big black birds, answering questions and sharing his appreciation for the soaring scavengers until the vultures take to the skies -- by 8:30 am.
