I Heart Pluto Night Of Discovery
Lowell Observatory and Orpheum Theater present A Night of Discovery, a celebration to commemorate the anniversary of Clyde Tombaugh’s discovery of the icy world Pluto on February 18, 1930. Headlining this year’s event is a presentation by Nicole Stott, an astronaut, aquanaut, and space artist who creatively combines the awe and wonder of her spaceflights and undersea adventures with her artwork to inspire people around the world. Why hold this event at the Orpheum Theater? Because Clyde Tombaugh watched a movie here on the night of his great discovery in 1930. Plus, the Orpheum accessibility, comfort, and old-time charm, make it a perfect venue.
