The parade draws about 40,000 Yuma residents and visitors to the Historic North End each year to celebrate the holiday season. Last year the memorable event included a record high 102 lighted, festive entries. The parade’s organizer Visit Yuma has registration forms available for the annually anticipated event’s 16th year which will delight spectators on December 8 and feature the theme "Celebrating Yuma Agriculture."
This year, the tradition of recognizing the parade's best entries, as graded by a panel of judges, continues with an assortment of awards, including the Dorothy Young Memorial Trophy for Best Performance by a Marching Band, last year awarded to Gadsden Elementary School District #32, and the Mary Jane Allen award for best depiction of the parade theme, won by the Sierra Vista Scouting Unit #8054.
