On Nov 7th at 4 pm our spirited Day of the Dead festivities get underway. Tlaquepaque's patios, streets and fountains will be transformed into traditional Day of the Dead decor and altars-ofrendas. We encourage you to bring flowers, personal objects, photos and candles to leave as an offering on our main public altar located in Patio Del Norte. Candles will also be available for purchase. Enjoy the inspiring music and action-packed entertainment as you walk our grounds to view the altars, dance and celebrate with others. The wearing of Day of the Dead costumes is also strongly recommended for those of all ages. Activities for kids include free sugar skull making. Face painting for a fee of Day-of-the-Dead motifs. "El Mercado" in the Calle Independencia will feature agua frescas and fresh churros, traditional pan de muerto (Day-of-the-Dead bread), cookies, Taquitos and hot chocolate. There will be several artisan booths vending Day-of-the-Dead merchandise as well.
