Fifth Annual Shakespeare in the Pines
June 15, 16, 22, 23, 2018 - Laark Productions presents William Shakespeare’s gender-bending farce Twelfth Night or What You Will as the annual Shakespeare in the Pines fundraiser for children’s nature programming at the Highlands Center for Natural History in Prescott, Ariz. Two additional evenings allow even more opportunities to join in the fun.
This popular outdoor theater experience begins with an opening reception hosted by the Highlands Center featuring brews, hors d'oeuvres, wine, soft drinks and desserts from local vendors.
The show abounds with strong comedic performances by a host of talented actors and musicians, under the direction of Laark Productions’ Artistic Director Karla Burkitt.
Laark Productions inventive and immersive staging has proven to be a major draw for their productions. The audience is invited to abandon their inhibitions as this site-specific theater company begins the performance among the guests at the reception. Audience members may find their shoulder wept upon by a lovesick Orsino, or may be splashed with sea-spray as a shipwrecked Viola emerges from the waves.
Funds raised by the event directly benefit nature-based educational programs for children in the central Arizona highlands.
