Rodeos Reimagined
Go beyond bull riding and steer wrestling to get the true view of Arizona’s Old West.

The capital of the Tohono O’odham Nation, Sells is close to several scenic areas that showcase classic Southwestern landscapes, from saguaro to palo verde, and unexpected desert woodlands, such as oak and walnut at higher elevations.
Baboquivari Peak offers the greatest diversity in vegetation, and a striking apex that dominates the landscape. The hard, mineral-stained rocks jut out from the crown, and as the elevation decreases, the high desert landscape progressively changes to create varying layers of terrain. Day hikes carry you though this scenic topography and are great for photographers and sightseers alike. As you’re surrounded by the desert beauty, you’ll understand why this peak is the legendary home of I’itoi, the tribe’s creator, said to reside in the cave just below the summit.
