In a region peppered with former rough-and-tumble mining towns, Lake Montezuma, with its sister community of Rimrock, is a desert oasis built around the Beaver Creek Golf Course.
Of course plenty of Arizona history lies within easy reach. Historic Camp Verde and the old mining town of Jerome are nearby, as are Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well. Prefer to stick around town? Central Lake Montezuma has a retail plaza that will appeal to any visitor, with a park, restaurants, a post office, and shops. Nearby, lovely Sycamore Park offers a playground, walking trails, picnic areas, and creek access for swimming and fishing.
Looking for riparian areas, ponds that host migrating birds, or incredible views of the Arizona’s red rocks? Look no further. Within a short drive from town you can also explore Sedona, Prescott Valley, and Flagstaff.
You might hear this area also referred to as Beaver Creek, since the creek is the heart of the region. Its headwaters start in the high country of Northern Arizona, and descend from the Mogollon Rim to its junction with the Verde River in neighboring Camp Verde.Visit City Site
