Nogales 1.7 Historic Area

In Nogales, the last U.S. border frontier, reside the 1904 Santa Cruz County Court House featuring two museums,  and the 1914 Nogales City Hall featuring the Pimeria Alta Historical Museum.  The 1.7 miles of Historic Nogales contains structures of the U.S. Army Camp Little and 35 National Register Historic  buildings including grand residences in three historic residential districts, of Crawford Street, Potrero & Pajarito Streets and Court Street.  Travelers can experience a part of history that reflects a culture that is wovenfrom the strands of the cattle, commerce, retail, railroad, mining, military, and produce industries. And if the warp is industry, the weave is people. The city was a cultural vessel that embraced Asian, European, Mexican, Anglo-Saxon, Middle Eastern, and Black influences and, today, still lends depth to the tapestry of Nogales. The historic area of Nogales has a culture all of its own.  Travelers can experience the diverse culture and heritage of the Asian, European, Mexican, Anglo-Saxon, Middle Eastern, and Black influences that was embraced by the past and current inhabitats.  This historical area still offers a glimpse of the past as well as lends depth to the tapestry of Nogales today.
