Southwestern Institute for Culture and Arts

Rehab of historic elementary school site (1950's) into an Arts & Cultural Educational facility dedicated to preserving the unique cultural and artist heritage of SE Arizona & Sonoran area.  Tours, classes, workshops, events, 2 annual festivals, art museum (open daily) public mural garden areas to bird watch, etc. Artist residencies (stay-overs) available.  Concert Hall.  ADA accessible.  Parking being built.  Grassroots organization of artistis, long-time residences, dedicated to preserving community of flavor, artisans, many cultural backgrounds and much 1st hand history of Bisbee; Arizona early history; mining; agriculture & the local environments have opened an art Museum (9-5 daily) and partner with the local history museums to preserve the history & culture of the area (visit the Bisbee Restoration Museum at 37 Main, the Mining & History Museum in Grassy Park, and the Buffalo Bill Museum -Center Ave, Warren).  We offer many artist services, local arts education for kids, summer art institutes (4-6 weeks of intensive art clases), afterschool programs, art exhibits.  Plus in 2006 our concert hall will open along with upgraded parking & ADA access.  We are 501-c-3 & all volunteer staff.  We hope to serve the area and region for years to come.  Please visit.  We have an artist-in-residence program for those wishing to say 1-2-4 or 6 weeks at the institute.
