Guadalupe de la Torre

Born into a family of artists, she was encouraged as a small child to explore her creativity, studying art both in Mexico and in the United States. Guadalupe is proficient in many different media including oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, ink and sculpture. Her subject matter is varied, but scenes involving people or wildlife are her favorite themes to do. Guadalupe is the recipient of numerous awards from juried shows throughout Southern Arizona, including the MASTER’S MEED AWARD at the Tubac Art Festival five times. Guadalupe has done the paintings for the Mariachi Conference posters seven times, as well as illustrations for Curriculum Press for the public school books around the country. Her paintings grace the public as in the mural for the Tapestry of Tucson displayed at the Tucson Convention Center and for private collections across the world. She is a fine artist and does commission art as well. She enjoys doing portraits of people or pets. To her, it is like creating an immortal piece of art of the person or pet. She loves to teach which she has done for over 40 years privately, at Pima College and at Green Valley Recreation Center, and says, “God gave me a gift, and it is to share”. Art Classes from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Also available by appointment
