Children's Museums & Zoos

Across the state, Arizona’s unique children’s museums let kids and families share fun, interactive experiences not found in traditional museums.

You also won’t want to miss Arizona’s amazing zoos and wildlife preserves, which provide fun and educational encounters. The Phoenix Zoo has even been voted one of the nation’s Top Five Zoos for kids!

For families traveling with children of any age, or adults who want to learn a little bit more about the area, Arizona’s children’s museums and zoos are a great place for an exciting, educational experience!

  • Arizona Science Center

    Explore 350 hands-on science exhibits, experience the excitement of a five-story-screen theater, and travel to space in a planetarium. Admission varies. 10am–5pm daily.

  • Grand Canyon Deer Farm

    Varieties of deer, pygmy goats, llamas, monkeys, miniature donkeys, peacocks. A large gift shop.

  • Keepers of the Wild

    Keepers of the Wild is a sanctuary dedicated to the rescuing and rehabilitation of neglected or abused exotic animals. They offer tours and educational programs.

  • Out of Africa Wildlife Park

    What makes Out of Africa Wildlife Park so special is the personal, unforgettable experience you get when you encounter a giraffe face-to-face or feed-a-tiger after the Tiger Splash show. Open daily 9:30am - 5:00pm.

  • Phoenix Zoo, The

    Visit the beautiful Phoenix Zoo, home to more than 1,300 animals. Hours: 9am–5pm regular season. Summer (June-August) 7am-1pm (weekdays) and 7am to 4pm (weekends).

  • Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass

    Arizona's largest Western-themed attraction in a new location, Wild Horse Pass. Stagecoach & train rides, gold panning, gunfights, shops, steakhouse, cookouts and live country music. Free admission.

  • Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch

    Family fun for all ages! Feed the ostrich, deer, and rainbow lorikeets. Various ostrich products available such as ostrich egg shells, eating eggs, and feather dusters.
