The Best of the Boston Pops presented by the Arizona Ford Dealers

November 16
HoHoKam Stadium

Legendary Conductor Keith Lockhart Leads Boston Pops To The Valley
-- Best of the Boston Pops Presented by the Arizona Ford Dealers is Nov. 16
at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa --

The Best of the Boston Pops presented by the Arizona Ford Dealers will showcase the extraordinary range of "America's Orchestra" on Nov. 16 at Hohokam Stadium, 1235 N. Center Street in Mesa.

Led by Legendary Conductor Keith Lockhart, the orchestra will play its way through a variety of American music, from blockbuster Broadway show tunes to Hollywood silver screen classics.

For fans of all ages, there'll also be a patriotic sing-along and a medley of holiday favorites sure to put everyone in the spirit of the forthcoming season. The evening will conclude with a show-stopping fireworks spectacular choreographed to Tchaikovsky's Overture of 1812 and Stars and Stripes Forever.

“One of my favorite parts of being the conductor of the Boston Pops is the privilege of taking the orchestra on tour and sharing some of its great music with Pops fans across the country,” said Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart.

Lockhart became the 20th conductor of the Boston Pops in 1995, adding his artistic vision to the Pops tradition established by his predecessors John Williams and Arthur Fiedler.

Audiences worldwide love his inimitable style, expressed through his consummate music-making and distinctive ability to speak directly to the audience about the music to which he is so passionately committed.

"It's been nearly 10 years since the Boston Pops has performed in the Valley," J.D. Dockstader, director of Mesa Convention Center/Amphitheatre/Hohokam Stadium for City of Mesa, said. "This prestigious musical event pays tribute to the landmark Hohokam Stadium, opened in 1977 and rebuilt in 1996. It is the grand finale happening before the venue closes for significant renovations."

Like the legendary Independence Day extravaganzas broadcast nationally and held annually at the Hatch Shell outdoor concert venue in Boston, the Best of the Boston Pops at Hohokam Stadium is certain to be one of the Valley's most memorable music experiences of the year.

Concert-goers are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at the event to benefit the 3TV Forgotten Angel program, which is designed to make the season brighter for thousands of needy children.

More than 25 years ago, 3TV and The Salvation Army joined forces to create the Christmas
Angel program. Today, it is recognized as the largest Christmas Angel program in the country,
serving more than 50,000 children each holiday season.

Doors to the concert open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. The performance begins at 5 p.m. Prices are $25, $39 or $49. Field level floor seats are $75 and $95. Tickets may be purchased at the Mesa Amphitheatre and Mesa Arts Center box offices or online at

The event is presented by the Arizona Ford Dealers and sponsored by Travel Assurance Promise, Salt River Project, Visit Mesa, Korbel, M Catering by Michael's and Samuel Adams.
