Wildfire Updates

Fire Restrictions

Campfire and smoking restrictions are in place at many recreational areas on public lands statewide, including all six national forests in Arizona. The Forest Service, along with other federal, state and local partners, implement these restrictions as a precautionary measure to protect public health and safety, and to reduce preventable human-caused fires.

Never leave a campfire unattended, fully extinguish your campfire—it should be cold to the touch, and dispose of cigarettes in your vehicle’s ashtray. Public land managers urge the public to be careful with fires and to know if the area they plan to visit is under any fire restrictions – Know before you go!

Visit the following websites for additional information:

Or call the toll-free Southwest Fire Restriction hotline, 1-877-864-6985.

Travelers can also learn more about campfire safety at www.SmokeyBear.com.
